Tom Northrup and I were scrubbing a few routes down the middle of this fine cliff about 3 years ago, then didn't get back until this year. Behold, routes galore! Some gear we stashed up there showed up on an anchor - that was fun to see. (Anybody got my two 8.5mm x 50m ropes?)
We've had three nice forays to this cliff over the last few weeks, and have done most of the longer routes, soon learning that some trad gear is well advised on many of the pitches.
If anyone has a topo to share, we'd be interested (especially routes up through easy 5.11).

Hi Dean-
Are you referring to the stash of gear in the woods above the main face? If so, I saw it about a year and a half ago during some route development work up there. It was soaking wet and badly mildewed. I left it, assuming someone would be back for it, but haven't checked on it since. I know Alden Pellet saw it up there too. You might check with him. FWIW, those ropes were toast. No way would I have used them in the state I found them!
Cheers,
Derek

Dereck:
Agreed on the ropes. I had some non-climbing uses in mind. I can't say I've exactly missed them - mostly curious about where they ended up.
Thanks,
Dean

I believe all of that stuff is still up under a small overhang at the top of the cliff (stashed in a black plastic trashbag.) I saw it the stuff last year and it was nasty! Ropes covered in mold... etc. I think it may still be up there. If you're standing on top of the very steep part of the 82 (where all of the sport routes are- directly above the "82" painted on the cliff, you might find it.
If it's still there and you can pack it out, that would be great. As far as I can tell, it's pretty much trash at this point. It would be nice to bring it down.
Travis
BTW: there isn't a topo as far as I know at this point, but I'd like to see one too. I know most of the routes up there if you have any particular questions. T.

Thanks, Travis. My understanding was that it was gone. I'll make a wider search and WILL remove everything I find.

Dean,
Your bag of stuff is up above the leftmost bolt line on the face if you haven't found it. It's just laying in the bushes up there. If you top out either of the two leftmost climbs you'll find it somewhere up above those anchors.

Seth:
Thank you for the help. I made a hard search at and near where I originally put this stuff with no luck. I'll look in the area you've described.

Hi Dean,
Cool, I thought that gear was some equipment I had left up there years ago since the rope and some gear matched some that I had been using around that time when I first rappelled and inspected the face, so I assumed it was some I had left behind years ago. Like you, other things took me away until a few years ago when I got permission from Green Crow, the owner at the time, about climbing up there and began more ernestly to put up routes. Now, thanks to cragvt and others we will always be able to climb there.
I'm happy to take you right to your gear (and help cart it out) if you PM me on this site.

Hi Alden:
Congrats on putting up some fine lines at Crag 82. They've been great fun to follow. Thanks for the offer to help locate my gear. When Tom and I are headed up again (soon I hope) I'll try to contact you.
I'd be interested in knowing the boundaries of the Green Crow lot we now have access to, thanks to Crag-VT. Does anyone have a tax parcel map on a USGS or orthophoto base they can put up here, by chance? As you surely know, Alden, there are other climbs to be had in the vicinity of Crag 82.
Thanks again,
Dean

Dean,
CRAG-VT will be releasing some information about this soon; we can't let the cat out of the bag on this yet. Out of respect for their efforts, we're waiting for the Vermont Land Trust to lead with an announcement before CRAG-VT will be making any statements about the 82.
Stay Tuned,
Travis

I found and carried out all my old climbing gear about 2 weeks ago. Now that I know where it was located, I was within about 15 feet of it some months ago. Thanks, all for helping with this.

No way would I have used them in the state I found them!
Does that mean you would use them in New Hampshire?
